Renee' Scruggs, IDefy, Inc

Renee' Scruggs became Renee’ Scruggs became a disability advocate after being severely and permanently injured in a car accident during her freshman year of college. She is the founder of IDefy, Inc, a nonprofit that promotes self-empowerment through independent living, sustainability and entrepreneurial training. She has conducted forums for government, commercial and civic organizations.
Ms. Scruggs has served as a member of the Huntsville Area Committee on Employment of People with Disabilities, as an accommodation and resource specialist for the Alabama Department of Rehabilitation Services, VP of Diversity & Inclusion as well as Workforce Readiness for the North Alabama Society for Human Resource Management and business coach for the Catalyst Center for Business & Entrepreneurship. She currently serves as an Ambassador for the City of Huntsville through the Civic Engagement Academy program, is a member of the City of Huntsville Disability Advisory and Vision Zero Traffic Safety Committees. She also serves on the Alabama Assistive Technology Act Council, is an Advisor for People First of Alabama, a proud member of the Pivot To Your Next academy development team and co-host for the Think It Over and Yes! You Can! audio podcast. Ms. Scruggs is also the author of GROWN, a life-affirming account of her 1979 car accident. She holds a Bachelors in Communications, a Master in Business Administration and a Masters in Management.
